A father, his wife and their two daughters, aged 8 and 12, were killed when an Israeli airstrike hit their home in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, according to Palestinian health officials.
The deaths came as Israeli strikes continued across Gaza, following attacks reported in Nuseirat, Daraj Tuffah and the Al-Shati refugee camp on Wednesday, September 9.
The Israeli military confirmed it had carried out strikes in Nuseirat, Daraj Tuffah and the Shati refugee camp, saying it had targeted Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad weapons facilities and a rocket-launching site.
In Nuseirat, an Israeli strike hit a building after residents were warned to leave the area. The attack destroyed the building and injured several people, with the wounded taken to Awda Hospital.
The strike also damaged surrounding buildings and forced families to flee their homes.
In Gaza City’s Al-Shati refugee camp, another Israeli strike destroyed a home and heavily damaged nearby buildings. Residents had reportedly been warned to evacuate before the attack.
The Shati strike caused extensive destruction, but available reports did not establish that anyone was killed in that particular attack.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military said its recent strikes targeted military infrastructure, including weapons storage facilities and rocket-launching positions. Hamas has denied the Israeli military’s characterization of the targets, accusing Israel of targeting civilians and their homes.
The latest attacks come despite the October 2025 ceasefire, which halted large-scale fighting but has not stopped Israeli strikes in Gaza. Reuters reported that at least six homes across Gaza had been targeted over the preceding two days, with nearby buildings damaged and families forced to flee.
