FKF says Kenya’s top-flight football campaign will kick off on September 19 following the August 28 court ruling.
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has confirmed that the 2026/27 Kenya Premier League season will begin on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
The announcement sets a new date for the start of Kenya’s top-flight football campaign following a court ruling issued on August 28.
FKF said the commencement of the new season will be in compliance with the court’s decision, paving the way for participating clubs to begin their campaign.
The confirmation comes as teams prepare for another competitive season, with clubs expected to finalise their preparations ahead of the opening round of matches.
The federation has wished all participating teams a successful campaign and called on football fans across the country to continue supporting their clubs as the new season gets underway.
With September 19 now confirmed as the opening date, attention will turn to the league fixtures and the teams looking to make a strong start to the 2026/27 Kenya Premier League season.
