Kenya Power has announced planned power maintenance that will affect several parts of the country on Thursday, September 10, 2026.
Residents and businesses in parts of Nairobi, Kiambu, Mombasa, Kilifi, Nyeri, Uasin Gishu, Kisumu, Migori and Kisii have been advised to plan ahead for temporary electricity interruptions as Kenya Power carries out scheduled maintenance.
In an evening notice, Kenya Power said the affected areas will experience outages at different times, with most interruptions scheduled between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m.
The utility company described the interruptions as planned power maintenance.
Areas in Nairobi scheduled for power interruption
In Nairobi, several areas will be affected on Thursday.
Parts of Hardy and Karen will experience an interruption from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The affected areas include Safe Park Estate, Mutty Court, Kipevu Road and adjacent customers.
Another planned outage will affect Shell Petrol Station Kerarapon and adjacent customers in part of Karen during the same period.
In Spring Valley, the interruption will cover part of Peponi Road from General Mathenge Junction to Thigiri Ridge Road Junction, Peponi Gardens, part of Spring Valley Road and adjacent customers.
Kenya Power has also listed Bamburi Road and part of Enterprise Road, where the whole of Bamburi Road, Industrial, Prison and adjacent customers will be affected from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Kiambu areas also affected
Several parts of Kiambu County are on the maintenance schedule.
The affected areas include Murerа Sisal, Juja Farm and Athi, with the interruption expected from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
The listed areas include Chai Road, Kirathimo, Tumaini, Muhaka, Jujafarm Market, Jujafarm Polytechnic, Gikumari, Air Harries kwa Mzungu, Nyumba ya Wazee, Mungetho, Juja Farm, Wamu-ini, Zone P, Mwireri, Mumba and adjacent customers.
Parts of Kikuyu will also be affected around PCEA Hospital Kikuyu. The interruption will cover Thogoto, Thirime, PCEA Thogoto Hospital, Alliance High School, Alliance Girls, Mai-i-ihii, Thogoto TTC, Kihunguro and adjacent customers.
The scheduled interruption in these areas will run from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Power maintenance in Nyeri
In Nyeri County, residents in Kiriani and Kamacharia are also expected to experience an interruption from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
The affected locations include Kanorwe TBC, Agachiku, Lari TBC, Kandabibi, Kagumoini C/Fact, Warugara Secondary, Kora Market, Mananga Market, Kamacharia Market, Mathioya Technical, Ngamba, Kamune Market, Kamune Polytechnic, Riakiberu C/Fact, Iruri Market, Kaharo Dispensary, Thuita Market, Karugiro C/Fact, Gachirago C/Fact, Githanga Dispensary, Geitwa Market, Kirithiru and adjacent customers.
Uasin Gishu and Western Region
In Uasin Gishu County, the affected area is Torochmoi and Mosop.
Kenya Power has scheduled the interruption from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m., covering Torochmoi, Mosop, Arbabuch and adjacent customers.
In Kisumu County, the maintenance will affect areas around Chemelil Factory from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
The listed locations include Simba Petrol Station, Potopoto, Kopere Market, Chemelil Sugar Factory and its surroundings, Mbogo 1, 2 and 3, Gul Pri, Mashambani, Bugon Pri, Nyanglor Dispensary and adjacent customers.
Migori and Kisii counties
In Migori County, the affected area is Wasio and God Jope, where power maintenance is scheduled from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
The affected locations include Kakrao Secondary, God Jope, Kona Kowang and adjacent customers.
In Kisii County, the outage will affect Kiogoro and Itumbe between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m.
The areas listed include Kegati Market, Rianyammwamu Tea, Riabamanyi, Matibo, Nyanguru, Nyaguta, Riangome Nene, Itumbe Tea, Matunwa, Itumbe Market, Kamel Park, Kiogoro and adjacent customers.
Coast region outages
In Kilifi County, parts of Watamu and Turtle Bay will be affected from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
The affected customers include Ocean Sport, Humming Ways, Medina Palm, Turtle Bay Hotel, Plots 6-48, Temple Point and adjacent customers.
Meanwhile, several parts of Nyali, Mombasa County, are also on the maintenance schedule.
The interruption will run from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. and will affect areas including Lido Beach Hotel, Milele Beach Hotel, Kingstone Hotel, Baobab, Memon Estate, Shikara Apartments, CTM, City Mall, TSS QRTZ, 1st to 5th Avenue, Sunrise Resort, SOS Nyali, Shell Links Road, Right Address, Breeze Hotel, Alcapone, Kenol, City Mall and adjacent customers.
Residents and businesses in the listed areas are advised to make the necessary arrangements before the scheduled maintenance begins.
