Former KCSE candidates can now access certificates online despite school fee arrears
Former KCSE candidates who left school years ago can now access their examination certificates online without having to return to their former schools to collect the documents.
The online service offers an option for candidates who never collected their physical certificates, including those who may have left school with fee arrears.
According to information shared by Kenya Student Updates, candidates who sat their KCSE examinations between 1994 and 2025 can access the service through the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) e-Certificate portal.
Applicants must create an account, log in and provide their full KCSE index number and the year they sat the examination.
The reported access fee is KSh 1,500 per certificate.
How to Access Your KCSE Certificate Online
Former candidates can begin the process by visiting the official KNEC e-Certificate portal:

Applicants should create a profile, log in and follow the instructions on the platform.
They must have their full KCSE index number and examination year ready to complete the process.
The service could offer relief to former students who need their KCSE certificates for employment, further education or other official purposes.
However, applicants should confirm the applicable fee and eligibility requirements on the official portal before making payment. The claim that access is guaranteed regardless of school fee arrears has not been independently confirmed by KNEC.
