Video circulating online shows the husband taking clothes from his wife and returning them to the store amid unrest in France.
A man in Paris caught his own wife allegedly stealing clothes from a shop amid the ongoing unrest in France, with footage showing him taking the items from her and returning them to the store.
The video shows the husband intervening after his wife is seen with clothes taken from the shop. Instead of leaving with the items, she watches as he takes them back.
The incident comes amid widespread looting and vandalism during protests across France, where shops and businesses have been targeted as demonstrations turn violent.
The unrest has been fuelled by anger over the rising cost of living, fuel prices and poor school conditions.
Authorities have reported nearly 2,400 arrests, while around 1,500 businesses have been affected by the looting and vandalism.
The footage of the couple has added an unusual twist to the scenes emerging from France, where businesses are struggling to recover from the destruction.
